Labor Day in the Tree's

We were all excited to spend our last weekend at the Cabin for the year over the extended Labor Day Weekend! Claire was beside herself by the time we rolled through Beaver, so we stopped to get a Frosty from Wendy's and it was the exact pick-me-up everyone needed!

Claire + Corn = Love
Since Deb died, we are back to being dependent on using one of my Dad's many mountain vehicles. This is us partying in the Diesel!
Sof loved these salamanders and was not afraid to touch them, whereas her Daddy was! :)
This view will never, ever, ever, ever, ever get old. Ever.
Sof's the coolest 4 year old I know!!
Claire has a track record, so I was following close behind in case she decided to fall head first into the pond.
For month, Sof had been asking to look through "real life binoculars" and she finally got her chance at the cabin!
Claire lives the dream!

Saturday was my 10 year High School Class Reunion in town, so we hauled the girls back down to that. Not very many people showed up, but it was fun to chat with the ones who did and get reunited after all these years. It's crazy to think we are all grown up with families of our own now.

2 of my 3 best girl friends! We don't live close by, but we still keep in touch and these girls are some of the best!
Everyone holding their babies while mine are either wading in the stream of playing on the playground. Oh well.
Sof got to ride a 4 wheeler all by herself! Luckily Grandpa was watching because he snagged her right before she ran into the deck. She hasn't figured out the throttle quite yet, but did good for her first time!

Claire's favorite place.

Claire played hard and was rocked to sleep by the hum of the Diesel's engine. She has never really slept very well in her carseat, and this was a new record. After 4 hours, we had to wake her up for dinner.

Yet again, I half-jokingly told Greg we should've gotten a Diesel truck instead of a van. It never fails to put that girl to sleep.

We drove down to Cedar Sunday morning for church, but ended up leaving Sofi to play with her cousins. We made it just in time to enjoy sacrament in the foyer ...

I rarely saw Sof while we were at the cabin. She was too busy running wild and free with her cousins.
Catching more salamanders.
Claire's happy place. I wish we had one of these at home.
Throwing rocks off the Point.
Greg was put in charge of driving this up to the point. He was happy to oblige.

After awhile, my Dad took over and this is all of us piled in the Ranger driving around looking for Greg and my nephews. We eventually found them.

Poor Jess braved sitting in the back.

Jess eventually made it to the front with us. All 3 of these girlies were born within 7 months of each other.

Monday morning, before we left, everyone who was on the Thorley property got together for breakfast, and it was fun to chat with cousins I haven't seen in a long time. Even my grandpa and his siblings were all there, which is no small feat. They are the 5 surviving Thorley's who all hold shares in the 10,000 acres.

We came home to giant squash ...
