The Best of Spring

Crazy little sisters.

We went for a walk one beautiful morning and had so much fun on this swing. It was warm, clear, and the views were beautiful!

Our mood must have been infectious because we talked Greg into going on a hike with us, mid-day, before busy season (gasp!). Quarantine isn't looking so bad.

Shelves are still empty.
Claire and her priorities.
Too cute. They've loved having their Daddy home and I think he's loved being here.

Monkey Sof has sure embraced her wild side this year. She climbs on anything that gets in her way, just because she can.

My little beauties. It's amazing how much more alike they look upside down. Their differences are crazy, but they are both so pretty in their own way.

The neighbors tree is a favorite climbing spot for both girls. I could hear Claire yelling for me one day, but I couldn't find her. Guess where she was.

Another beautiful hike. This time we went down the river.

Greg got a fanny pack. And I was dying!

He had to wear it non-stop for 30 days so it could monitor his heart. Poor guy could only take it off in the shower.

April General Conference

We got back from Cedar City just in time to watch General Conference. This year was special because not only was it the 200th anniversary of the Restoration, but due to COVID-19, only the speakers were allowed to attend. All music was prerecorded, and the speakers had to sit 6 ft apart. Instead of being held in the General Conference building, it was televised from a conference room. President Nelson wasn't joking when he said this would be a Conference to remember.

People don't believe me when I tell them Greg's lap is Mitten's favorite place. So here is living proof. He slept her the full 2 hours of the morning conference. And Greg clenched his legs closed to make him comfortable. Truer love hath no man than Greggy for his Mittens.

Let it be known I made homemade cinnamon rolls for Sunday breakfast, and they were delish! My mouth is watering just thinking about them. I had to leave 2 unfrosted so that Sof would eat them. Baby steps people. At least she ate one.
It was overcast/rainy, but we still took our traditional stroll around the block.
#besties.

Escaping Corona

We had had enough one day and needed a pick-me-up from Quarantine, so off we went to Southern Utah where COVID hadn't hit (yet).

Sof saying bye to Mittens.
Ready for our road trip! These two are the best little travelers.
Because why wouldn't she land on her head?
Living their best life at Grandma's. These girls ate like champs!
My mom exercises every morning, so she indulged us on a walk one morning. Sof was so excited to race Grandma and beat her around the big track.
This is my high school track. It used to be so ghetto and cracked, but it's nice to run on now. Sof and I had fun doing intervals around it.
Trips to Grandma's wouldn't be complete without climbing as high as they could up the railing.
We rode horses! Dreamer was the best ride the girls could have asked for.
This girl was made for the farm.
My mom took Sof to the Dollar Store and bought her bunny ears for Easter. She was in heaven.
It's good to know Mittens was taking care of Greg back home.

Mittens!

I've been telling Sofi for almost a year that when she turned 5 she could get a kitty. I don't think Greg really believed that I would, but sure enough, we did! People around us want actual money for their kittens, and quite a bit, and I'm against paying anything for cats, so I diligently watched KSL until I saw a listing in Spanish Fork for free kittens!!! I showed Sof the pictures, let her pick one, and I promptly texted the guy who said he would hold the orange one for a little girl's birthday. The girls and I went to Walmart, bought some kitten supplies, and the next day, on March 24, 2020 off we went to pick up the kitten. Funny how I'll spend the gas to pick up a kitten, right? Anyways, he was absolutely adorable and Sof's whole countenance lit up when he was placed in her arms. We needed a little ray of Sunshine to come through our Corona raincloud.

Meet Mittens!! I love that his eyes are as blue as Sof's.
He already slept better in the car than either of my kids.
He escaped sometime during the drive and hid in the car the whole way home. I found him curled up in the very back under my stroller. He is truly the sweetest little kitty!
He warmed right up to Greg. 🤣
I've never known a cat to sleep on his back like a dog. He kills me.
He became my little work buddy.

Sof was content to entertain and take care of her kitten. He provides her with endless amount of laughter. He is just the little buddy she needed.

Poor Mittens. It will be a miracle if he survives Claire.

He loves climbing all the way up Greg like he is a tree. Here is a play-by-play of him doing it 🤣

Greg acts like he doesn't like it, but he secretly does. Notice him trying not to smile. His flared nostrils give him away every time.

Finally a use for this corner cabinet.
Claire is in a major Princess phase right now. She goes through dresses like they're going out of style. I was laughing this day when I found her the rocking chair, staring at herself in the mirror, while sucking on her Moana necklace. She's the best.
I went to check on Claire one night and got the scare of my life - she wasn't in her crib!!! I searched and eventually found her behind her chair, fast asleep where she had snuck out to read books.
Mittens is Sof's little rommate until she falls asleep. It's the cutest thing!
He loves to climb up the hamper then out the ripped hole.
This picture of Claire kills me! 🤣💓🥰 She gave herself lipstick one day with a red marker.
Being creative in quarantine means making Sof a homemade mask to match her beloved Supergirl dress. She was thrilled! Score one for the hoarders and my extra scraps of felt.
We sent a picture to Grandma Great one day. I was dying at how Sof colored Grandma's hair!

Oh Claire. I couldn't end the post without this video of her. She's awesome, and I have gray hairs because of her. Literally, I'm gray.

Further proof he's the best kitten ever! Greg and I agree it's good we got a kitten first before having another kid. Can you imagine?
