Snowmageddon

Karma hit hard one day when we got about 1' of snow in just one storm! It took me well over an hour to shovel our driveway, with Sof's enthusiasm to help get me through! But, Claire napped, so I guess the day was good for something.

Homemade Salsa in the dead of winter. Best. Thing. Ever! Claire might have eaten it all.
This picture ALMOST makes the snow worth it. Almost ...
You can't tell, but this mound is a good 3' tall, thanks to the snowplows. Yes I shoveled it. Yes it fueled my hate fire. Yes, Sof was in sipping on warm hot chocolate watching me. Yes, Claire was still napping.

Hill AFB Museum

Sofia's Preschool Adventures continued the end of January with a Field Trip to Hill AFB Museum. It was my 2nd time ever being there, and the idea of airplanes is still incredible. Sof had fun running around with all of her preschool buddies. Claire was not content to be strapped in the stroller. Oh Claire.

It snowed this morning and ended up being a very sunny day.

We love Preschool Field Trips!

Our Trip South

Here I am blogging, trying to catch up as I am two months behind, and it is crazy to think how blissful life was before the COVID-19 Virus that has shut down the world as we knew it. I know we will be okay, but it is crazy to think how absolutely carefree we were. I could go to any store and know they had what I needed in stock. Now, I'm not so sure. Who knows how long it will take for things to get back up and running? But, we will be okay. I will keep believing that.

...

As per busy season tradition, we headed south the end of January. It was cold in Davis County, and the warmth we felt the further south we got was absolutely glorious!

South bound! It's amazing how well-behaved my girls are when they remember we get to visit Grandma.
I am someone who thrives on blue skies and sunshine. Enduring the Gray Days of Northern Utah is a struggle. There were a good stretch of days where we got nothing but clouds. So imagine how giddy I was when I saw blue skies ahead after Nephi and it only got bluer the further south we got.
When we got to Cedar, we had to take advantage of the beautiful weather, so we went to the park.
Big girl swings only for this girl! And jellies and no jacket at the end of January? Pure bliss!
Shelling pine nuts with Grandpa.

Sofi has developed a great love for the Dinosaur (Tonaquint) Park in St George, so that was our plan Friday. My cute Mom and Shelby came along for the ride. And the best part, we had it to ourselves for quite a while.

She was soaked.
Sofi the zipline queen.
Cute baby Claire is looking pretty grown up.
True to Claire, and her love for everyone else's shoes, She found and tried on my sister's boots.
Oh Sof, the queen of looking anywhere but at the camera.

Why yes, she is drinking water from the ditch. Again.
💓
Claire and Oakley waiting so patiently for their turn on the train.
Sofi has a challenge in Primary this year to visit as many temples as she can. Sadly, we weren't able to touch the temple, due to the renovations, but we were able to get a picture at least outside the gate. Oh, and she is pictured here with her new favorite stuffed animal, appropriately named "Rainbow Ruby."
We stopped in Hurricane for a birthday dinner, and the girls were completely enthralled with this race car set. It was so much fun! I'm contemplating getting them one. The idea is to get as many cars going around the loops as you can before they collide. Pretty cool.
We love the fun playground next to my parent's house. I sent the girls out to play one day and this cute boy took it upon himself to play with Claire. It was the cutest thing ever to watch!
Saturday night my Mom offered to watch my girls while I went night skiing with Shelby. I love Brian Head, mostly because of my childhood memories, and it was fun to spend some time with Shelby. Crazy to think she was 2 when I left for college and is now 12-almost-13. Time sure flies. Anyway, we had fun despite the fact that she cute me off 6+ times while skiing....
My cute girls all pretty for church.
And looking almost identical after church.
Claire was a little wee beastie when we were packing up and trying to leave my Mom's, and I discovered a new travel tip that I will probably incorporate into all of my future trips. What is this secret? Melatonin. She was out before we even got to Parowan. Pure Bliss ... until Sofi had to go potty ...

Happy 32nd Birthday to Greg!

Old Man Greg turned 32 this year! But, like fine wine he get's finer with age 😏. We were so excited to celebrate him and made him come home a bit early from work. He was already slammed by his birthday. Sad day.

This girl. She has such Pure Joy in the simple things.

Greg's birthday was a happy day. The girls love to do this fun thing on our bed. And if you're wondering? Yes, Claire has fallen off head first. Thanks for asking. But, she was fine. That girl is proving to be [nearly] indestructible.

We went shopping and found the cutest little carts! Sof was more than happy to fill her cart to the brim. Claire was pretty distraught we had to leave the cart at the store. Baby steps.

Greg had a yummy meatloaf dinner and requested the yummiest cake this year. And yes, it was truly that good. My mouth literally just watered thinking about it.

Sof drew Greg. I was dying 🤣

Greg is one loved man and continues to be the apple of all our eyes. Happy Birthday Greggy! We
sure do love ya 💗!

Skiing for the First Time in Forever!

Greg mentioned one day that he would really like to go Night Skiing, so we made it happen! It was my first time going to Powder Mountain, and it did not disappoint.

I was laughing at Greg's pompom on top of his beanie all night. It was frozen straight up. I kept joking with Greg that it was happy to see me 🤣. Inappropriate?
There was an amazing sunset that night! But holy cow was it COLD! It took me a good 30 minutes to thaw out. So cold!

Greg can shred. This boy was made for the board on the mountain!

Mark and Kathy so graciously entertained our girls and put them to bed for us so we could Night Ski. We came home to this and it made me so happy! 🤣

Sofi was still in her tent phase, and we set up this little princess castle in her room, and Kathy put her to bed in it that night. Is she sleeping good or what?

I'm pretty sure Greg and I need to make this a tradition every year for his birthday. The poor guy spent a lot of time waiting for me, but it was totally worth it.

Sledding Fun

We got a nice big storm and made the most of it one afternoon. The sledding did not disappoint!

I love this little face!
