That one day we took the Girls skiing ...

Greg was able to find a Saturday in March that didn't require him to go into the office to work, and my parent's just so happened to be up north that same weekend, so we arranged for my Mom to watch Quincey while Greg and I took the girls skiing for the first time that afternoon.

It turns out that kids are free to ski at Nordic, so we spent the day there, and it was an absolutely BEAUTIFUL day! It's amazing how the mood lifts when you leave the valley inversion. The sun was HOT and we got fried. 1000% worth it!

We inherited the cutest ski's from April and Toby (Thank you!) and we practiced with the girls on how to stop and go. Sofi had been practicing on her roller blades, so we weren't too concerned about her, and she actually was a natural! She loved going up and down on the magic carpet area.

Claire was a different story. Girlfriend went limp from the first minute and was an absolute mess. But, the longer we worked with her, and after she got some fries in her (that's another story), she perked right up and was ready for the big hill.

Melting Claire. She was on her back more than she was standing on her ski's. The poor person running the Magic Carpet knew to slow and/or stop it when they saw us coming. Bless everyone else behind us - Claire is hilarious. Or at least we can laugh about it now, 7 months later :).
It's so funny how one kid was acting like this ....
And the other one was having the time of her life. But, that's usually how it goes.
It was the first time any of us had felt temperatures in the 30's, and we got FRIED! All of us. We had church the next day and everyone who saw us had the comment, "Looks like you've been somewhere fun," because of our Racoon eyes. My favorite though, is Greg's forehead. He had that rainbow stripe on his face for months. The poor guy, which meant I would look at him and laugh for months.

He's used to it. Love you, Greggy!

We had such a fun day! Quincey behaved (mostly) for Grandma Jan. Remember that she was in a major stranger-danger phase and had no clue who Grandma Jan was. But, they came to get along and my Mom had a lot of fun with her.

Cue Claire, at 2:30ish that following morning, complaining of a stomach ache, then proceeded to throw up consistently every 10 minutes for the next couple of hours. Poor girl! We blamed the fries she ate at Nordic. When Claire gets sick, she gets sick! But, she eventually recovered, and we were in the all-clear to go skiing again, but avoided getting fries. It didn't end well for anyone.

Other Fun in February

February was a breeze. It's fun to relive the inbetween of the grander moments. Quincey turned 1 and the older girls are growing like weeds. Where does the time go, truly?

Bike rides mid-February. Not too shabby! We used Quincey's Little Tikes swing as a seat, and she loved every second of it!
Took a trip downtown one day and we stopped at the Temple site. What they have done to it completely astounds me. Engineering is so cool!!!
We took the train with some friends to Salt Lake one day during Free Fare February. We had fun walking around City Creek, but it was a learning experience to always go north. Salt Lake doesn't bring me joy. But, it was fun walking around with friends for a change.
Modeling some Eclair + Co. Sunglasses, and their expressions are hilarious!
How is this even comfortable?
Soaking up some much needed Sunny D on our awesome deck. North facing isn't always ideal, but sun was get in our backyard during the winter makes up for it.
We were able to escape to a yummy Cajun-style restaurant for Valentine's Day, and it was a lot more delicious than I thought! It was a fun experience.
Eating snow. She loved it!
I didn't realize how fuzzy Mittens was last winter. Holy cow! Boyfriend was fluffy!
And, he took his nightly post outside Quincey's bath tub very seriously.
It was Claire's turn to bring Pete the Cat home for a weekend from Preschool, and boy did she have a lot of fun with him! She had some pretty big plans on how to spend her days with the cute stufftie.
Another photoshop with the cutest babe ever in her Eclair + Co. Goods.

Getting more and more fun as the days go by!

Claire was the only one brave enough to go out in the cold and get the mail. Her outfit killed me! I can't exactly remember why I filmed her, but I'm sure glad I did.

Video footage of Quincey on her maiden voyage on the GOAT. She loved it!

Quincey turns 1!

Our sweet Baby Quincey turned 1, and what a fun day it was celebrating her and the beautiful little addition she has been to our family. We spent the day doing what she loves - being together, playing, and dancing.

Quincey and I had a fun little photoshoot one day. She was so cute in her fluffy dress and hammed it up just perfect for her 1 year pictures.

She has the cutest little scrunchy smile, and the sweetest little face. I enjoy spending my days with her!

The cutest little girl gang! Oh how we all love our Quince.

It has been fun to rediscover songs I grew up with and listen to them with my girls. Shania Twain was a fan-favorite in my house growing up, and it was so fun to discover her new album on Quincey's birthday. We had fun dancing along to the songs.

We made a little smash cake and had some family over for some low-key festivities.

Quincey wasn't so sure about her cake, but once she figured it out, she seemed to enjoy it :).

Oh how I love this girl!
I prayed so hard to get her earthside, and the presence she has been in our family has been unmatched. She has been so much fun, is so content to go with the flow, and loves joining in the shenanigans of her older sisters. She has her daddy wrapped around her finger and brings so much joy to our days.

We love you, Quincey!
We can't wait to see what you become
