Capitol Reef Trip - Day 2

Day 2 dawned bright and Quincey slept horrible. She cried out long and loud and woke poor Claire up, who I'm pretty sure wasn't able to fall back asleep. Eventually, everyone else woke up and Greg took Sof and Claire to breakfast while I slept with Quincey. I missed breakfast but was able to chat with a local, which is always fun for me.

It's a good thing she's cute!

We made it to the Visitor's Center to pick up the Girl's Junior Ranger booklets, and found a fun spot to eat some lunch.

The fun thing about Capitol Reef is the orchards that surround the area, and the deer were not shy. They were in eating their lunch under the tree's with us. It was interesting to watch them stand on their hind legs and stand up to get some fruit on the trees. Smart little buggars.

We planned to hike up to a natural arch and were quickly reminded that Claire woke up early - she complained the entire way up. It was not fun. Luckily there were some shady spots to stop in along the way.

We made it!
Sof was the MVP. She was the best little hiker.
Claire, being Claire, didn't want to take a picture. She is hilarious.
For as much as Claire complained on the way up, she sure left us in the dust on the hike down. Girlfriend is fast when she wants to be!

We found a local Mexican joint for dinner. No one else thought it was funny that there was a "Funeral No Parking" Sign outside where we were eating. Hopefully that wasn't a bad sign for how dinner would be. Quincey was the only one who obliged me with a picture.

A beautiful view in the smallest town I've even been in.
