Capitol Reef Trip - Day 1

School ended and we were on the road Monday, headed as a family to visit Capitol Reef National Park. None of us had ever been, but we had heard good things so were super excited at what we were going to see. The drive was off the beaten path, taking us South East after getting off at Scipio, but it was fun to take the backroads. The girls were oblivious, as they were glued to whatever movie they were watching at the time. It took 4ish hours to get there, and we LOVED our hotel!

There is something so contagious about watching the joy on our kids faces as they experience something as simple as a hotel room!

Happy 12 Years to Us! 💗

We found a fun Swing Set and had the best time playing on it after our long car ride.

We found dinner at a random Cafe and had subpar food, but we managed to get ice cream cones before they ran out, so I consider that a win!

Claire and her pretty eyes!
Sof being a ham!

After dinner we went into the Park to explore.

The detail in the rock was amazing!
I spy Greg and Quincey.
The girls found a perfect Little Mermaid rock and took singing the song very seriously.
Claire loved finding all the places.
And I loved watching.

Afterwards, yours truly realized she packed all but her swimsuit, so I watched everyone swim from the sidelines. It wasn't a bad gig 😜.
