I am determined to update this dang blog sooner than later ... although I am officially 9 months behind, it will happen. It will. But until then, here is the update for Sof's 8 year old birthday in April...
|
We let Sof open her presents from Grandma and Grandpa Spjute before school. She was thrilled to get her very own set of scriptures embossed with her name. She loved them! |
|
She was also super excited for this cute Penny Board from Grandma and Grandpa Thorley. |
We had so much fun celebrating Sofi! Around here, we like to celebrate the "birthday week," not just the day! So, with Sofi, it was so fun to check Claire out early from Preschool and go to her class for "Fairytale Friday." We read The Frog Prince and then helped the class make a fun jumping frog craft. We also took treats and loved seeing Sof act all nonchalant when her classmates sang to her. She's one cool kid!
After school, she was able to open her presents from Mom, Dad, Claire and Quincey.

The older my girls get, the more convinced I am that some of the best parts of parenting are trying out their fun gifts before them. I wasn't joking when I said this was our hoverboard :). |
True to tradition, Sofi chose to go to Pizza Pie Cafe for her birthday, and as you can tell from the picture, we were the only ones there for a awhile. It was awesome!
|
She may be picky, but she handled this Pazookie like a champ, and even shared! |
I got suckered into letting Sof invite WAY too many kids to an Art party on Saturday.
|
Sof's invitation this year. It has become so fun to have the girls help me design their invites for their birthday each year. |
|
Greg was able to be home more around the end of March, and the day of Sof's party was unseasonably warm, so here is Greg sunning himself like a lizard. He earned it! |

The group playing a game under the tramp. |
|
After the scavenger hunt, we all gathered inside to open gifts. Sof was showered with presents. |
Greg was on Quincey duty that morning. He's the best!
We had fun celebrating Sofi and are sure proud of the girl she is! A good helper to Mom and a friend to all. She's a good egg.
