We did a thing ... without telling Greg

The day after we got back from Spring Break, we did a thing and decided to get chicks! Apparently it was the year to get chicks, because IFA limited people to only Saturday. So, we went to good old Cal Ranch and came home with 7 of the cutest chicks you ever did see!

Meet Ziggy, Sunday, Lemon, Dot, Shadow and Kiwi.

Quince was in heaven every morning going to check on the chicks. They were small enough, we kept them in a tote in the basement.

We got the chicks the week of General Conference and we had the best time holding them all weekend long. Even Greg got in on the holding.

I'm thinking we need to recreate this picture now that the chickens are big ...

Greg handled the news of the chicks relatively well. We didn't tell him we were getting them, and he was in a great mood coming home that night. No one said anything until sweet baby Quincey said, "Dad, want to see our chicks?" Greg then stopped, looks at me, flares his nostrils and said, "You didn't!"

We did, and we've been in chicken heaven ever since.

Happy Birthday Grandpa + Spring Break 2025

The end of March 2025 was a party. We headed south to help Grandpa Todd celebrate his 65th birthday. My dad has acquired enough machines to keep his 5 daughters, 11 grandkids and various son-in-laws happy at the sand dunes. All my dad wanted was to have a fun day at the sand dunes, and fun was definitely had.
Quince had the best time climbing all of the sand hills.
We love going to Grandma Jolley's Sacrament Meeting where she lives. She wasn't expecting us and the delighted look of surprise on her face made being late to the meeting worth it. That lady loves her family.

We spent a day in St George doing all of the fun things. We took the bikes down to the bike Park in Santa Clara and the girls had a great time! They have embraced riding bikes and love keeping up with their dad. Quince had fun cruising around on her scooter. I may have managed to lose my car keys but luckily had them returned relatively quickly. I am convinced one of these years my brain will decide to re-enter my body. Until then ... who knows what else will be lost?

After, we dropped Greg off to ride a fun trail while we played at the Children's Museum and Dinosaur park.

Then we stopped for a yummy custard treat at Nielsen's.

The girls were so cold after their treat they warmed up leaning on the car.

Another fun thing we did was find time to ride horses out at the farm. Uncle Danny was kind enough to saddle up Socks and let us ride him.

This picture was before Socks decided to dump me on my face. I am terribly out of practice.
Sof was in heaven.

We picked up sweet Grandma Jolley who came with us to the farm. She dressed warm and stayed in the car to watch, but we loved having her along for the ride.

We had fun in Cedar. Got some good Vitamin D and made some fun memories with cousins. It is always hard to leave.

Greg worked a bit the day we planned to leave and head back north, so I took the girls down to Evan's (The local hair school) to get manicures and see Shelby's booth. We also stopped to visit Grandma Jan at work before heading out.

It's always fun to visit, but it definitely is nice to come home and sleep in our own beds.

3 year olds are hilarious. Every day is a new adventure with Quincey.
