Breakfast on the beach - I could get used to this! |
Tuesday was the day for us to do the popular Vallarta Adventures Zip Line, and I'm telling you right now that it 1000% did not disappoint!
We learned that our resort was right across the Marina from the Vallarta Adventures check-in point and that they provide a free water taxi to and from which we took full advantage of! |
Home Sweet Home. |
We got to the check-in point early enough to hold a parrot.
It was a 20 minute trip by boat to get to the beach where our Adventure would begin.
A cool stopping point to pick up more passengers. This is where the giant cruise ships dock - I was loving the colors and details of this building. |
Once we made it to the beach, they loaded us into the Unimog that would take us further up the mountain. It was pretty awesome!
Once we got there, we sat down and got our instructions. We were each given a rashguard and bandana to wear. We were also instructed to leave absolutely all personal belongings behind, which they then locked up. The best part was when they gave Greg the biggest helmet they had and me the baby helmet. Oh well! It made for a fun memory. The guy tried to tell me how all precious and beautiful things come in small packages. Yeah, yeah, yeah ...
This bathroom was so funny - no glass in the windows and the note on the back. Priceless. |
There were only 12 people in our group, instead of the usual 30+ that they're used to, so we were able to look around a bit and take our time. Watching Greg ride a donkey was fantastic, and like it's rider, it was stubborn. It absolutely refused to let anyone pass, and Greg almost drove a poor girl off the cliff. He was smiling the whole time :).
We went from the first zipline ...
to a rappel ...
to a water slide ...
to a some tandem zip lines ...
to a coaster ...
not pictured is a double surf board zipline.
And finally, we ended with a water slide that was so epic, they made us wear hockey helmets! :) It was pretty awesome!
At the bottom of the water slide, we had fresh watermelon and a drink waiting for us. It was pretty cute! It was funny to hear the stories of the people who had gotten stuck in the slide! Not sure how that happened because when Greg and I each went down, we were hauling!
After, we were given our things back to change and given free time to roam the area. It was beautiful! And because our pictures were so awesome, we purchased them. Totally worth it!
The Primavera Tree. I was in love! |
On our way back to the boat. This little beach was so beautiful! Mexico just kept getting better and better.
We had some time to kill, so they took us to see some of the local sites on the way back to town. They showed us baby pelicans, vegetation, and it was super cool to go around this cliff. It was right on top of a fault line, so west east side of the cliffs was a literal drop off.
We decided to get off in town so we could walk around and see the sights. There was an ice cream shop and taco place Greg was wanting to try, so off we went.
We pulled into port and found a random pirate ship. Pretty cool! |
Greg got a mango and grasshopper cone. I couldn't bring myself to try it, but he said it was delicious. |
