Bryce Canyon!!! Thurs-Friday

I'd been wanting to get to Bryce Canyon all year and wasn't going to let COVID stop us!! So, as our last hurrah before sending Sof off to school, we booked our Bryce Canyon adventure the weekend before, and let me tell you, it was so much fun!

We were packed and loaded by Thursday morning. The girls kept needing to stop to go potty, so it was such a relief to finally get to Beaver, where we stopped for ice cream at the new Creamery. The ice cream was okay (Claire's was absolutely disgusting, with bubble gum and sprinkles combined), and now we know that we don't absolutely have to stop there every time.

It started to sprinkle a little bit, but luckily the weather held in time for us to be able to put up our tent and get our campsite situated. COVID has shut down travel, so there were absolutely no foreign groups there this year, which means no crazy frenchman was yelling past midnight this time. Pure bliss!! COVID does have it's perks, I will tell you. Another COVID perk, is everyone has purchased camping trailers, so we had our pick of the lot on the tent side, while the trailers were crammed in like sardines on the other side. Our camping spot was amazing was spacious, and we were [mostly] neighbor-free!

Thursday

Locked and loaded to the ceiling. Literally.
Excited to get ice cream!
Sof was the best helper! This picture kills me 😂

It was still a little rainy, so after dinner we took the girls swimming, and they had a blast! They were so excited to swim in the hotel and splash around in the hot tub. I remember as a kid how much fun it was to stay in hotel's, so this was a big moment for them both.

Someone slept good!

Friday

Friday was our day to go hiking and explore the park. We weren't off quite as quickly as we would have liked, but we were off regardless. We got on the shuttle (masked of course) and made our way to our designated trail. It was a hot day, and Greg was already dripping by the time we got there.

Oh Claire. Once we were in the bottom, she started reminding us she was 2. A terrible 2.

Greg carried her the whole way out.
Map check.
She was thrilled when it was time to get back on the shuttle.

Greg found time to ride his favorite trail, Thunder Mountain. He was giddy the whole way there and couldn't wait to be on his way.

While we were playing at a park ...
Greg was seeing the beautiful scenery.
True to tradition, we finished off the night with ice cream.
