Last day of Kindergarten!

June 3, 2021 - the last day of Kindergarten, and what a year it's been!

Sof started out going 2x a week for about 1.5 months, with the other days being online learning, until the uppity-up's decided it was safe enough to send the kids full-time, with Friday continuing to be online learning.

Sof made some really cute friends. She learned some good tricks to remember vowels, she learned amazing social and people skills from her teacher, and some good life lessons as well, on what it means to be a good friend. I came to really love Ms. Loosle as a person. She, honestly, is the sweetest person I have met, and was exactly who Sof needed this year. I think Ms. Loosle is someone Sof will always remember.

Sof grew so much in her confidence, happiness, and place in this world. Masks didn't bother her (she didn't know anything different), and she had so much fun walking home with her walking group each day. It was fun, as her mom, to see her grow each day and be challenged. We had our ups and downs, but Sof has such a zest for life. She is so fun to be around and has the cutest smile and giggle. I'm really going to miss having her around when she goes all day to 1st Grade. But for now, I'm not going to think about it.

She looks so big!!
We celebrated the last day of school by going to get FroYo!
After, we celebrated Summer by going to the Splash Pad. Bring on sunshine and swimsuits!

Helping with Field Day!

Sof's school district lifted the mask mandate and the visitation/helping rules the last week of school, so I was beyond thrilled to be able to help her class with Field Day this year! I've heard about all of her friends, but haven't been able to meet them very often due to helpers not being allowed in classrooms this year. But, helping with Field Day more than made up for it. Kindergarteners are freaking adorable!

Sponge fight!
9 Square was fun to watch!
I love that she loves having me around.
The tug-of-war was the highlight. Those kids are determined!
Everyone [almost] fit! No better way to end Field Day than with delish Pace bars.
No masks! Sof is here with Ms. Loosle (the best teacher EVER!) and her cute friend, Janaleen.

Meanwhile, Claire is having the excitement of her life when at Grandpa Spjute's, they find a snake in the house. Grandpa was so scared he couldn't remember his address when on the phone with the Fire Station. Hilarious!

Family Vacay in Park City - Happy 10 years to US!

Although our Mexico trip was considered to be our 10 year celebration, we decided to take the family on a little overnighter to Park City, and the girls were so excited to stay in a hotel and swim in a pool. Park City is where Greg and I went on our honeymoon, so we thought it fitting to go back with the girls. We didn't stay in quite as fancy of a room, but the girls didn't care.

We ate dinner at the local Cafe Rio where the girls both chowed down on their food. Good to know there is 1 place that they both like to eat.

The girls shared a bed, but right as we were ready to put them to bed, the connecting room next door was invaded by 4 very loud bachelor's. Let's just say it made for a very long night.

This pool was Ah-mazing in the fact that it was outdoor, indoor, and incredibly warm. Everyone swam to their hearts content Saturday morning before checkout.

We took our bikes up to Park City and made good use of the trails. Sof was thrilled to lead the way as we rode until we saw the infamous white barn everyone knows PC for. It was a beautiful morning, and we had fun exploring.

These tree's were a climbing child's paradise.
Happy 10 years to us!
Everyone refused to take a cute Family pic, so I took one of myself. You're welcome.
What goes up, must come down or be helped down. Right, Greg? :)

The next stop was the Alpine Slide! We were reminded by expensive it is, but it was the girl's first time, so we made an exception. They were so excited to be able to finally ride a ski lift.

Greg and I rarely have good luck on the Alpine Slide. We're always stuck behind people going waaaay too slow. This day was no exception. The guy even gave us some extra time for the people in front to get farther ahead, but Greg quickly caught up to her as she was taking a slow selfie the whole way down. He was ticked! But, Sof and I got back for him when we completely ran over her husband's cell phone. It made a loud crunch as we sailed over it.

Claire was starting to lose it by the time we made our way to Main Street for some ice cream. Claire's mint cone wasn't minty enough for her, so she chose to complain while Greg happily (not so happily) munched on both his and her cones. Her lack of sleep was starting to show.

After ice cream, we made our way to the Olympic Park where we watched kids and adults alike ski and flip into the water.

On the way out, we were excited to be able to watch a Bobsled fly past us on our way to the car. Park City was fun, but we were excited to get home and sleep in our own beds that night.

Sofia the Dancer

On Sofia's last day of dance, the parent's were invited to come and see what the girls had learned throughout the season. I am in love with the studio we found for Sof. Her teacher was so sweet and always so encouraging to the girls. Everyone in Sof's class was in Kindergarten, so that was so fun for her to connect with other girls her age, all over Kaysville. I am so proud of Sof, and I noticed a huge difference in her confidence whenever she took to the stage. Girlfriend loves to perform and she always does so with such joy!

Claire the Singing Sensation

I enrolled Claire in a singing class clear back in January. I would drop her off for 45 minutes once a week, every week, and it finally came time for her cute performance. Honestly, it was Claire, and girlfriend is stubborn, so I didn't have very high hopes of her actually singing. But, guess what? Not only did she sing, but she danced and followed the actions as well. I was so happy, ecstatic, proud, elated, joyous, etc. that all of the driving back and forth had paid off. She was absolutely adorable!

I was nervous for her to go to the singing class, because it was in the thick of COVID where even 3 year olds were required to wear masks. I dropped her off the first day, and she never looked back once. It was so cute to watch her jump out of the car, mask on, and take herself all the way to the basement door that lead to her class. She is so confident, and I'm glad she charges into the unknown. Girlfriend is a force!

Mrs. Karen found a way to let the kids perform outside. The performance attire was a costume of anything that involves being active, so naturally Claire chose the pink leotard Sof never uses, and I think she's the cutest little dancer there! She stole her pink bucket hat off Greg at the last minute, and I'm so glad she did. It completed her outfit perfectly.

We love being supported by Grandma and Grandpa!
Sof was one proud sister.

Claire is often so quiet, I forget realize how smart she is, but I was reminded yet again that although she's quiet, it's because she is soaking things up like a sponge. She knew every word to every song, and it was easily the cutest thing I've seen her do. She made me one proud Mama.

Fun in May

May was a fun month! It was a lot of things: Softball, Family time, being outside, Dr visits, Dentist appointments, Singing, and eating. Kindergarten was winding down, and we were excited to have the summer to play!

My parents came to pick up their Can Am and took us to dinner at the Pizza Pie Cafe. Claire was in heaven with her endless bowls of spaghetti. I see many dinners there in the future.

COVID delayed Sof's first visit to Primary Children's to check on her heart, so this was our year. It was a lot of new things, but she handled them like a champ. I think it helped that they gave her quite possibly the cutest male nurse I've ever met. Girlfriend scored!! Her heart checked out Greg and she has the all clear to come back in 2 years with Claire. That was such good news to hear!

Sof was wearing all the colors.
She got a cute bear named "Jack." He quickly became her bestie.
And all of the sudden, she looks so grown up!
While we were in the hospital, Claire was living her best life in Lehi, twinning with Baya. How cute are these little besties?

It was finally warm enough one day to jump on the tramp. Claire was having the time of her life.
Look closely and notice her goggles. I was dying!

We went on a Sunday drive one afternoon. Claire started out as a passenger and bailed halfway around the block. The perks of being 30 and being the size of a 12 year old, is I can still fit into most of my kids toys. Sof was loving it, just don't ask her.

May was the month where I officially took charge and got rid of the horrible Gray in our house. It looks so good and was worth the time! It took a full 3 days to paint everything, but it looks so good! I finished right in time to be sick for another 4 days .... it knocked me flat and I'm now wondering if I had COVID instead of the head cold I originally thought .... 🤔. I'll never know.
We took a beautiful stroll to the Bird Refuge another Sunday and the weather was perfect for pictures! This cute pic is right after Claire asked me if I liked "Marjuana" which was supposed to be "Moana." I have it on video to relive forever and ever.
We loved watching Megan's last dance performance of her HS career. She is a beautiful dancer!
Looking way too comfy at the Dentist. Kids have it so easy these days.

Greg took Sof mountain biking one Saturday and she was living her best life in her exercise shorts and camelbak. She loves to go with her daddy mountain biking. We have since decided it is time for Santa to bring her a real mountain bike for Christmas. Please bless kids bikes are back in stock by then.
