Trips for All

Greg tooK his first work trip to Dallas, TX for a few days, so Sof and I took a trip of our own. Why should Greg have all the fun?

We left Saturday to be able to see my cousin Kaleb give his farewell before leaving on his mission to Detroit. He isn't a man of many words so when he gave his talk, it was probably the most I've ever heard him say.

On our way down Saturday, we left during Sof's naptime. 107.5 miles later (and well past Nephi) Sofia Lu finally succumbed to sleep. I had to ignore her the last 30 miles, or she probably would've chatted with me clear to Cedar City. She's hilarious and way too aware of the things going on around her.

Taking her puppy on a walk before leaving
She watched Madagascar for maybe 5 min, but that is still progress!
My parents got a fun new Ranger, so we all took a ride Saturday night. We went up to see the temple and got this pretty picture. They put the Angel Moroni up just last week so he was fresh for the pictures.

A picture from Sunday. They should be putting windows in soon.
She loved Grandma's big sandbox. We were out there constantly when not doing other things
She could climb all the way up by herself, then needed help sliding down
My dad got the CT-70 going and took Sof on the maiden voyage.

Two little blonde, blue eyed babes

Sof had been begging to go on a bike ride all day, so she and I toured SUU and found the fountain.

She was prepared and came ready to play in the fountain with bath toys
I almost gave myself a heart attack when I stepped back for just a minute to snap this pic
My little sister just started playing the cello and Sodi was content to sit and watch until my dad came in too. I will never understand why she doesn't like her grandpa's.
My mom and I did our traditional stroll of Cedar's Main Street and ended by going in my Grandpa's store. I have many fond memories of this place and thought it about time Sofi visited.
Sofi loves playing in this fountain
My mom has the funniest cat. She doesn't like to be held but likes to be around people. You can see her sitting where she's not bugged but still part of the action.
still not being bugged, but part of the action.
We ate dinner with my dad's singles ward Monday night, so Sofi got a gourmet meal mac & cheese on the deck.

My mom, Sofi, Shelby and I biked down to the church to have dinner with my Dad's Singles Ward. It was weird actually seeing him in the role of Bishop. We stayed so long that our ride back was pitch black, and Sofi loved it. It seems like each night she progressively got to bed later and later each night. Oh well.

I finally had time to take Sofi up to see my Grandma Jolley Tuesday night, the night before we left. I love visiting her in her house because I am flooded with memories every time. She is such a sweet lady and has such a strong love for her posterity. Sofi was wary of her at first, but warmed up the longer we stayed. Oh how I love that lady!

Sofi has just recently realized Jesus, and she seems to spot pictures of him everywhere. It is sooooo sooooo cute and warms my heart each time. My mom has the "Living Christ" book in the room we stay in at her house, and Sofi had to look through the pictures each night before bed. This is a cute video I got of her.

Sofi is obsessed with my mom's cat and spent her last night chasing her around the house. Poor kitty, but it made for great entertainment for the rest of us.

In order to get my little sister to read, my mom locked us out of the room. Or did she lock them in? Sofi loved pressing her face against the glass.

Even if Shelby didn't read much by herself, she did spent some time reading to Sofi.
On our way back north on Wednesday, we hit the old Minersville Highway and stopped in Minersville to have lunch with my sister and her two cute boys. We met her cute kitty "Cactus" and wished we could clone him and bring him home. I wasn't fast enough to get a picture of Sofi carrying him, but he was so sweet! A perfect cat for little kids.

Miss Sofia the mountain climber
Sofi was exhausted after playing with cousins and slept most of the way home. I picked Greg up from the airport later that night and we got back into the swing of things. Oh how fun both of our trips were.
