Our Trip South

Here I am blogging, trying to catch up as I am two months behind, and it is crazy to think how blissful life was before the COVID-19 Virus that has shut down the world as we knew it. I know we will be okay, but it is crazy to think how absolutely carefree we were. I could go to any store and know they had what I needed in stock. Now, I'm not so sure. Who knows how long it will take for things to get back up and running? But, we will be okay. I will keep believing that.

...

As per busy season tradition, we headed south the end of January. It was cold in Davis County, and the warmth we felt the further south we got was absolutely glorious!

South bound! It's amazing how well-behaved my girls are when they remember we get to visit Grandma.
I am someone who thrives on blue skies and sunshine. Enduring the Gray Days of Northern Utah is a struggle. There were a good stretch of days where we got nothing but clouds. So imagine how giddy I was when I saw blue skies ahead after Nephi and it only got bluer the further south we got.
When we got to Cedar, we had to take advantage of the beautiful weather, so we went to the park.
Big girl swings only for this girl! And jellies and no jacket at the end of January? Pure bliss!
Shelling pine nuts with Grandpa.

Sofi has developed a great love for the Dinosaur (Tonaquint) Park in St George, so that was our plan Friday. My cute Mom and Shelby came along for the ride. And the best part, we had it to ourselves for quite a while.

She was soaked.
Sofi the zipline queen.
Cute baby Claire is looking pretty grown up.
True to Claire, and her love for everyone else's shoes, She found and tried on my sister's boots.
Oh Sof, the queen of looking anywhere but at the camera.

Why yes, she is drinking water from the ditch. Again.
💓
Claire and Oakley waiting so patiently for their turn on the train.
Sofi has a challenge in Primary this year to visit as many temples as she can. Sadly, we weren't able to touch the temple, due to the renovations, but we were able to get a picture at least outside the gate. Oh, and she is pictured here with her new favorite stuffed animal, appropriately named "Rainbow Ruby."
We stopped in Hurricane for a birthday dinner, and the girls were completely enthralled with this race car set. It was so much fun! I'm contemplating getting them one. The idea is to get as many cars going around the loops as you can before they collide. Pretty cool.
We love the fun playground next to my parent's house. I sent the girls out to play one day and this cute boy took it upon himself to play with Claire. It was the cutest thing ever to watch!
Saturday night my Mom offered to watch my girls while I went night skiing with Shelby. I love Brian Head, mostly because of my childhood memories, and it was fun to spend some time with Shelby. Crazy to think she was 2 when I left for college and is now 12-almost-13. Time sure flies. Anyway, we had fun despite the fact that she cute me off 6+ times while skiing....
My cute girls all pretty for church.
And looking almost identical after church.
Claire was a little wee beastie when we were packing up and trying to leave my Mom's, and I discovered a new travel tip that I will probably incorporate into all of my future trips. What is this secret? Melatonin. She was out before we even got to Parowan. Pure Bliss ... until Sofi had to go potty ...
