Hill Aerospace Museum

One Saturday we planned to go to Hill Air Force Base's Airplane Museum, and boy was it cool! But first, Sof rode her bike all by herself (with Greg) to the Elementary school.

This place was absolutely huge! 2 inside warehouses showing planes, and more parked outside in the blazing sun.

I didn't get a picture, but there was a cool display showcasing women's roles in airplane production during WWII. I knew women had to step outside their normal roles during WWII, but it never really hit home that they did a lot of the airplane production during the war. Since then, I have been wondering if my generation now would step up the way everyone did during the war. I can't decide yet if we have enough patriotism or sense of purpose to fill the necessary shoes, or if everyone would sit back and complain waiting for someone to do the job for them.

There was also this display showing the average cell size for a POW. They would cram 4 prisoners into a 6x6 foot room and shackle them to their bunks, sometimes for weeks at a time. When shackled, they could be forced to lay on their faces with their legs crossed. New insight into a truly terrible situation.

This airplane was HUGE and looked like it was wrapped in tinfoil. Sof was thrilled to take a picture.
This plane sat so low we had to bend to walk underneath. It also had wheels on its wings, they were so wide.
AIRPLANES ARE SO COOL!

Every month in the discount magazine, we see a place called Layton Burger Stop advertised and we took this day to go get a treat. Greg saw a special burger that he has since wanted to devour, simply because if you do, they give you a "free" tshirt.

This place was so fun! Totally retro, and you can tell that they haven't moved in years - Layton just continued on in time without them.

Sof was too busy to stop for  a picture.
