We took a Recovery Day

The week we were in San Diego, the weather decided to be cold and misty. We were lucky if it got up to 68 degrees.

Tuesday was one such day. It was much too cold to go to the San Diego Zoo as planned, so we took a "recovery day." Quincey was in major need of a nap, so while Greg stayed behind at the hotel I took the girls back to Old Town to go shopping. Our hotel was only a few blocks away, so it wasn't too long of a drive. The girls are getting old enough to enjoy shopping for trinkets with me when we go on our trips. It's always fun to see what souvenior we come home with.

We found a shop for Uncle Toby.

After lunch, we went to the beach ... which was freezing. But, we did our best to have fun. Quince was in heaven with the sand and water. She could've stayed there all day - and we probably would have if the weather was warmer.

Claire found some shells.
Greg was the only parent brave enough to get in the cold ocean water.

She was so fun to follow around.

The picture shows how cold the girls really were.

Claire was killing me 🤣.

I jogged back to get the car while Greg gathered the girls and met me at the showers. Everyone was cold and sandy - and the water felt warm compared to the ocean and weather outside.

Because we were in downtown San Diego we decided to go somewhere yummy. There was a taco shop Greg heard good things about, but when we drove by and saw the line and asked people how long the wait was, we decided to keep looking. Well, we never found anywhere else we wanted to eat so we headed back and I waited in line while Greg stayed in the car while the girls watched a movie. We eventually got our food and Greg and Claire were in taco heaven. They were Sooooo yummy! And the homemade churro's were the best I've ever had. Whatever it was called, it was definitely worth the wait!

Our recovery day was much needed and still so much fun. Exploring with our cute family and finding adventures everywhere we go is one of our favorite things.
