A Quick Trip to the Cabin

We enjoyed our first few days at the cabin in early July. Greg didn't want to take advantage of his firm's unlimited PTO policy, so we went without him (again).

This picture makes me smile. I used to do this exact thing at my Grandma's as a kid.

The girl's and I left Sunday after church, and got to Cedar in time to load up with my parents and little sister, and head up to the mountain! 

I've missed this view.

This was a cool climbing net that the girls had fun playing on.

My dad was working across the mountain during the day, so us girls were left to do whatever we want. It was fun to relax and chill with my mom and sister. 

It is always windy at the point.

Claire knows exactly what to do whenever she finds a bucket full of water.

Down the road a bit is my Uncle Theon's cabin, and he has the best zipline there!

And the view from their cabin isn't so shabby either.

It's become a tradition to take a drive down to the Kolob Market to get ice cream. It was a long ways for the girls to choose only otter pops, but sometimes it's the journey and not the destination, right?

On the way back, the girls got to experience what it is like to ride in the back of a truck (my poor, deprived children). Claire kept trying to climb out while the truck was moving, so she was put back in her carseat. It was a blissful ride after that.

This is the fullest Kolob has been in years!

Every time I see this view, I realize how lucky I really was to be able to grow up going to this beautiful place whenever we wanted to. Now that I live so far away, I miss it. I jokingly (not really) tell Greg I want to be buried up here. 

Sof had a lot of fun bonding with her Aunt Shelby.

I took the girls to do fishtails on the four-wheeler. I don't think they were very impressed.

My Grandpa Jolley opened a Western store when my Mom was young, and after 50 years it is finally closing. I put Claire down for a much-needed nap so I could go peruse the store to find any last-minute treasures. 

I ended up getting the girls some boots and me some bracelets, but what I wanted most of all was this poster that has hung on the wall in the same spot for as long as I can remember. When I was little, I always thought it was me (who knows why), and lucky for me, my uncle found me an extra copy!

We made it home around 10:00 pm Wednesday night, much to Greg's dismay (lucky for the girls, their Dad doesn't know how late they stayed up at the cabin), but they got in bed, so all was well in Greg's world.

June Fun 2019

We met up with my sister's at a Linemen Rodeo in West Valley one day. Sof convinced me to go down the blowup slide with her. I love redneck things like this. Is it crazy when I feel like I'm among my people? The cute lady who took this picture was hollering for us the whole way down :).

Greg's mini emduro's kicked off in June, and it was fun to cheer him on!

We went walking one Sunday afternoon.

Another Mini Enduro. Claire felt like a big girl helping her Daddy back up the hill.

We claimed to be a Farmington local so Sof could get discounted swimming lessons. She had fun.

Claire was beside herself every morning having to deal with the fact that her sister was in the water and she wasn't. She found ways to cope.

Monkey Sof is still as flexible as ever.

She loved her swim lessons! It was all her instructors could do to get her to slow down and listen.

This Is The Place Heritage Park has a free day every year. We made the mistake of going this year - just like every other mom in a 50 mile radius. They held it in the summer this year, so it was crazy! But, we had fun anyway, once we met up with some friends.

We crashed the Centerville Children's Parade. Not sure if we'll be doing it again, but it was fun anyway.

Short legs are strong with this one. Her cute shorts look like capri's.

We went on a fun hike one day. Claire refused to get in the pack, but Sof was happy to be packed up the hill.

I forgot to turn off the bathwater for Sof one night. This girl is a sassy one.
