18 Months Old

Sofia Lu Spjute has made it to the 18 month mark, and continues to be hilarious. She had her 18 month check up on her month-day and is continuing the trend of being a runt.

Height: 30.5" (10%)
Weight: 20 lbs. 6 oz (15%)
Head: 19.5" (75%)

Although she may be on the slow end physically, she is way ahead cognitively. She strings words together all the time (2 year old ability) and the Doctor was very impressed with how smart she is (in between crying fits).

Here are some other things she can do
-count to 10 (with help)
-watches "Princess" (Sofia the first) every morning after breakfast
-says "Toby, Toby, Toby" really fast whenever we get in the car to go somewhere
-knows her body parts (even boobs and bum Ha)
-thinks everything is "green"
-says "Hi Blue" to our fish every morning
-Asks in rapid fire, "Where's mommy, where's daddy?" whenever left in the care of a stranger (or opposite parent)
-knows animal noises
-loves her baby dolls
-Always spots any helicopters or airplanes
-Refuses to sit in the cart whenever we go shopping, she has to help push!
-loves to be outside, even if it's freezing cold
-Proudly carries her plate by herself to eat "side" (outside)
-Will only play on the big park
-has all of her teeth until 2 year old molars
-can feed a horse an apple all by herself
-loves her cousins (knows their names)
-Still scared of her grandpa's (and anyone who looks old)

Finally is taking an interest in the potty
Still sleeping like a crazy person

Wheeler Historic Farm

We were invited to go to Wheeler Farm in Murray with some friends. They wanted to go at 1:00 pm, and I was leery because that is Sof's nap time, but then I realized, why not? Sof would love it, I would love it, and it was about time we spent time around animals. Plus, there has been a bunch of drama going on with the apartments lately, so we needed somewhere to escape to.

Seriously, the biggest pig I've ever seen. I couldn't stop laughing!
John was really cute with helping Sofia.
My blue eyed beauty.
She got stuck.
Zach's face :)
This cute lamb laid right down against the fence. It loved to have its face rubbed.
with Johnny on the potty. She couldn't stop laughing.
Princess Sofia climbed up into both levels of this treehouse all by herself. I love it when she explores on her own.
Peeking into the treehouse. My cute friend Ashley took this pic.

Wheeler Farm was so much fun! I can't believe we've never been there before and are so happy we have such fun friends we were able to go with.

Pack Farm Picking Pumpkins

We went to Pack Farm to pick pumpkins and had a lot of fun. Mostly seeing Sofi's reactions to the pumpkins. Luckily, Greg remembered to douse everyone in bug spray, because the mosquitos were out in force!

Trying to carry it like the big kids

Pack Farm stepped it up this year with a kid area you had to pay to enter. at $0.30/lb and those areas, they are making bank off people. Luckily, these fun photo props were free.

And to prove I was there, I made Greg get one of me. I now know how my mom feels when she would always comment, "You never see me ..."

Family First Monday

We decided to check out the Family First Monday event held at Station Park in Farmington this month. It was pretty fun ... Sofi got a balloon crown thing that was too small, but it stayed on by the static to her hair. We also splurged and got shakes at Johnny Rockets.

I'll first start off with pictures of Sofi's super cute outfit. Seriously, I couldn't get enough of those leggings!

Running fast to see what I was taking a picture of ....
Exploring in Seagull Book
Taking a break from messing up her magnets
She looks everywhere but at the camera.
One proud Daddy
She was holding on for dear life - and so was her crown
The shake at Johnny Rocket's. I ate from the sundae cup, while Sofi took it upon her to eat the rest from this one ... Yes, she ate it all. This girl takes ice cream very seriously.

Pretty Valley 2016

We embarked on our 3rd annual Pretty Valley hike this past Monday, thanks to the planning and preparation of Greg's sister. It is so fun, despite the fact that we get eaten alive by mosquitos. Sofi loves any activity that involves being outside, so we weren't too worried about her behavior.

Roasting hot dogs
It has become tradition for the kids to do a jumping picture with the sunset. Megan did the best she could while holding Sof.
She tolerated the pack on the way up, but insisted she hike down like the big kids. She also happened to inspect and pocket just about every rock she could. Greg might fimd his camelbak a bit heavier the next time he uses it.
Running to catch up with the group.
What fun we have this time of year. Crazy to think our first year hiking, we were pregnant but no one knew. The second year we had a 5 month old, and now we have a sassy 17 month old. Who knows where we might be next year.
