Claire's Solo Trip to Cedar

All of Claire's dreams came true when she was able to take a solo trip down to Cedar City over Labor Day weekend. She hopped in with Aunt Katy and had the time of her life. She was so excited to stop in Nephi and order a kids meal from Wendy's and have one-on-one time with Katy while soaking up her own awesomeness in the backseat as she watched fun shows on Katy's ipad. Let's just say that Claire did not miss us one second while she was gone.

She went on a big fourwheeler ride up on the mountain with Grandma and Grandpa and loved every second of it. It's this time of year where the mountain is so beautiful I miss being able to visit as often as I did as a kid, but I'm glad Claire was able to spend the time she did with her grandparents. She's determined to make it an annual thing every year.

Catching Horny toads on the point.
Catching salamanders.
Riding in the back of the truck - she loved it!
Claire got dropped of around 10:00pm Monday night and was not happy to be back or see me. She would live in Cedar permanently if I would let her. Oh well - I'm glad she loves to visit as much as she does.

Finishing up August 2024

August is always a bittersweet month - the end of summer and beginning of yet another school year. It's always so much fun to spend every day together, doing all of the summer things but so nice to also have the girls back in a routine once school starts. Time just doesn't slow down.

Claire grew so much between Kindergarten and 1st Grade that she needed a whole new wardrobe, so we went on a solo shopping trip to her favorite store, Old Navy. She is so cute to shop with buy boy does she have expensive taste.

Splashing in the puddles as we go to visit Hondo.

We were invited to Tracy Aviary one day with some friends. We've never been there but had so much fun seeing all of the birds!

Claire with her friends Penelope and Elise.
Claire is always the first to climb the tree. Luckily she was able to get down - her dad wasn't there to rescue her.
Greg sure was smokin'.
Soaking up as much Cherry Hill as we can!
August sure graced us with some beautiful rainbows!
I always want to remember Claire's tan lines from the summer. She looked like a pokemon ball 🤣
.

Greg managed to get up in the net at Cherry Hill!

2nd day of school!
After having someone come by to fix our washer, only to deem it a complete loss and me wondering how many months/years we've actually been going without clean laundry, I promptly jumped in the car to go "look" at new washers only to end up buying one. Here is Greg waiting in the driveway after discovering the major purchase I had just made 😀.
McDonalds dinner date!
Getting every last drop from our homemade ice cream.
I always joke that my kids look more alike upside down than right side up.
Someone found the green marker and was very thorough at covering her entire body ....
Claire in the splits is one of my favorite things 🤣
Someone slept good!
The prettiest of sunsets.

Annual Wheeler Carnival

We look forward to the Wheeler Cat Carnival every year and were so excited to go again! It's down at Thanksgiving Point and totally worth the drive! It's a legit carnival with access to multiple food trucks, carnival rides, ponies, face paint, games, prizes, fireworks and blowups. It is as fun as it sounds and does not disappoint.

We've learned from experience to get in line for the balloon animals first...
Beautiful Claire! She loves getting her face painted.
Quince was in heaven on the ponies. She was determined to ride all of them.

I'm pretty sure Greg got a meal from every food truck there.
All-you-can-eat ice cream!

There was a man making giant bubbles. Quince was in heaven.

Crammed in a train ride.

The zero gravity ride was a hit - Greg and I were feeling our age.

It's always an interesting experience to see all of the different ranks of Wheeler Cat employees come together at the carnival. Greg is definitely one of the office guys. He is in the minority when it comes to facial hair and tattoo's ...
