Our Final Day in Jackson

We had one last day to spend in Jackson before we were due to head home. There were a few other places we wanted to see before leaving, and the girls had to finish and turn in their Jr. Ranger booklets so they could get their badges.

There is a place called "Mormon Row" where they have preserved farms from Mormon settlers in the area, and their view of the Tetons was stunning!

Someone slept well.

We have learned to take a video then screenshot the best photo we can. Here is the process ..

and here is the result.

Our awesome self-timer setup.
Took a few tries ...

We made one last pit stop at the Visitor Center, did a short hike which ended up being fun but a bit short-winded, then headed home a different route that brought us down through Wyoming instead of the Idaho way. It was scenic, but not sure we would do it again. But, it was fun to see the Star Valley temple.

This poor moose. I can only imagine how many fingers have been stuck up its nose.
We quickly realized Claire needed to learn some Visitors Center etiquette.
The Star Valley temple!

What a trip! We are so lucky to live near so many beautiful places, and there's no other way I'd want to see them than with our cute little family.

Jackson Hole Trip - Day 2

Our first full day in Jackson was spent in Teton National Park. We stopped at the Visitors Center to do some reconn and get the girls their Junior Ranger booklets, and we were off. We also stopped at Jenny Lake because it's one of my favorite places! I'm not sure why I find Jenny Lake so breathtaking, but it doesn't disappoint, ever. We took our scooters and lasted as long as we could - it was a cold weekend!

The beautiful view outside our window. The Fall colors did not disappoint in Jackson that morning.
Claire was not thrilled to sqeeze into her coat, but this pic sure made it worth it!

The cutest girl around!

I'm not sure which kid took this pic, but I'm so glad they did!

Our girls are finally old enough that we can do some small hikes when we go on our trips, so we found a beautiful overlook of Jenny's Lake. Claire only complained 1/2 of the way while Sof did cartwheels the other half.

We found a Moose!
Quince tasting her purple marker.

We went somewhere yummy for dinner, but Quince wasn't impressed ....

This is Quince before her meltdown ...
And this is us after ... Greg took her to the car she was screaming so bad.
"Two year olds, am I right?"

Afterwards, we spent more time downtown, because why not?

Day 2 was a blast! We love Jackson Hole.

And even though Quince was acting like a 2 year old, she still is stinking cute most of the time.

Jackson Hole Trip, Fall Break 2024 - Day 1

Thanks to the conversation I had with Mark today (thanks, Mark) He reminded me that I needed to keep updated my blog. So, here I am in December 2025 updating what we did in Oct 2024, simply because I'm a sucker and believe every fun moment deserves to be documented. So It is my goal to finish 2024 in time for 2026 .... I have 1 day left. Wish me luck!

---

For Fall Break, we decided to head north instead of south, and I'm so glad we did! The drive to Jackson Hole is STUNNING and it was so cool to drive past some super cool things on the way, notably a wooden silo on some long-forgotten farm, but a wooden silo! I kind of wish I had a place in my yard for one, but I digress. We had a blast letting the girls roam around the car while listening and singing to the Disney Album "A Whole New Sound" at the top of our lungs. I hope when the girls look back on these family road trips they remember having as much fun as I did.

Just know before we even left Kaysville, we had to replace our car battery. Luckily it didn't prove as a bad omen for the rest of the trip.

No words .... 🤣 Only that the video doesn't do justice to how loud Greg truly was!

I love how the hotels in Jackson pay tribute to the beautiful history of the area. No matter where we have stayed, it has been so fun to walk around the hotel to see the old pictures they have displayed.

This one is my favorite! I'm determined to one day have a copy in my house.

We were early enough to swim before dinner. Cute Quince was the only one the towels fit.

McDonalds for dinner!
Cute Claire looking even better in my coat than me (she forgot hers).
Day 1 complete - and we had so much fun!
