Claire turns 6!

Claire had been anticipating her birthday for months! Basically since April, when Sofi had hers. It was so exciting for everyone when her day finally arrived.

Grandma and Grandpa Spjute were going to be out of town on the actual day, but they were kind enough to have us over to their house to celebrate Claire the evening before, with dinner and brownies and ice cream.

Afterwards, we came out to a beautiful sunset.

Claire had a birthday party on Saturday (her birthday was Monday), and she had helped me plan the cutest party! She had made some cute friends in Kindergarten, already, and was super excited to invite them.

Sofia, Lexi, Penelope, Baya, Audrey, Talia, Olive, Claire and Lydia.
It was so fun to see all of these girlies gathered around Claire to help her celebrate her birthday. She sure got some cute things.

On Claire's actual birthday, she woke up early enough to open her presents before school. It was so cute to see Sof as excited as Claire, as far as opening presents went. Claire had gotten her new bike a few weeks earlier, but we still managed to surprise her with some things.

Claire chose the picture of her holding the horney toad (makes me so happy!), Someday she wants to be a famous singer, she is really good at riding her bike (notice the cat she drew on her dress), and she would love to visit Hawaii (me too, Claire!), and, her favorite things are to go to Lagoon. She is getting so good at sounding out her words, already!

Quincey and I were able to go to Claire's classroom in the morning to talk about Claire and take a treat. It is always one of my favorite things to go into my girls classrooms and see all of their cute friends. There is something so sweet about Kindergarten.

After we got home, Quincey and I got busy decorating the driveway for Claire when she got home. We loved making the day special for her!

For dinner, Claire chose her favorite place - Pizza Pie Cafe. Greg came home earlier than usual, so we were able to go right at 5:00 pm, which was awesome because we beat the rush. Everyone ate as much pasta, pizza, and salad as they wanted, and then we ended the day at a park.

Claire is like a fine bottle of wine - she gets more and more fun the older she gets. It has been so much fun watching her learn, grow, and completely rock this thing we call life! She is an introvert, but knows how to have a good time. She is observant, logical, and calculating. I often watch her as she is thinking, and feel like she is wiser than any of us knows. She see's a need and is often the first one to help out without being asked. She is kind, loyal, and SMART! We love her and the amazing little girl she is!
